EHTM

Efficient Heat Transfer Mixer

Downhole steam mixing that turns heat into production.

EHTM is a fit-for-purpose downhole mixer that combines injected steam with formation fluids in a high-turbulence swirling chamber—transferring heat efficiently, lowering viscosity and friction, and increasing well productivity in heavy and extra-heavy oil operations.

Downhole detail

Inside the downhole mixer.

Steam is delivered from surface through the wellhead and directed into the EHTM. Inside the tool, accelerated steam drives a high-turbulence swirling mix that transfers heat rapidly into produced fluids. The swirling flow pattern increases formation-fluid inflow into the wellbore. The resulting energized mixture travels to surface with lower viscosity and reduced friction losses—raising productivity.

  1. 01

    Steam inlet

Steam from the surface source enters the tool through the production tubing path.

  2. 02

    Tangential nozzle

Steam is accelerated to high velocity, establishing the energy that drives the mixing process.

  3. 03

    Mixing chamber

High-velocity steam creates intense turbulent swirling flow for rapid, efficient heat transfer.

  4. 04

    Swirling-powered ports

The swirling flow establishes a localized pressure differential that increases formation-fluid inflow into the tool.

  5. 05

    Diffuser section

Flow is stabilized and pressure is recovered as the mixture prepares for lift to surface.

  6. 06

    Energized mixture

Heated, mixed fluid moves upward with lower viscosity and friction—supporting higher production rates.

  7. 07

    Anti-erosion tip

A reinforced tip protects the assembly in abrasive downhole conditions for durable continuous operation.
